Esperanto is an artificial auxiliary language created by Lazarus Zamenhof in 1887 after a decade of work, in order that became the International Auxiliary language. It is the planned language most spoken in the world today, and it is spoken between one hundred thousand and two million people, of which not more than ten thousand are native speakers. This Gay Dictionary does not include insults, probably because it was a language designed to be understood and not for fighting.
However prejudices and discrimination also affect, of course, the Esperantists, since in some forum about the topic people expresses both the need to create new terms that express positively the new sexual diversity, as well as remember that the spirit of this language: a means to unite and to integrate. They talk about discrimination in Universal Esperantists Association (UEA), and also in countries like Vietnam.
