How to say gay in Polish
Below are the words of our Polish Gay Dictionary that we will expand in new editions. If you know any more, please, contact us. But first some information about the language and where it is spoken.
Polish is an Indo-European language spoken mainly in Poland and countries around. With fifty million speakers, is the official language of Poland and one Lithuania area.
The situation of the LGBT community in Poland is bad both because of its Catholicism and because of its Soviet past. There is no complete legislation against discrimination or against hate speech. Equal marriage is prohibited by the constitution and civil unions are not allowed either. Opinion polls on sexual diversity show widespread rejection, and the frequent homophobic statements of politicians do not help at all. In 2001 the first parade for equality was held in Warsaw, although in 2004 and 2005 the city’s permission to celebrate it was not obtained. Since 2006 pride is celebrated regularly.

2Kochający Inaczej
The literal translation into English of the Polish expression Kochający Inaczej is the one who loves in a different way, a highly poetic expression (or not). Although in our first searches we found that it was a pejorative expression, a reader has told us that its use is no longer derogatory and that it is standardized, which is, finally, good news from Poland. Thank you very much, Nie Tak.
