What is Moscas de Colores?
Moscas de Colores is a cultural project focused on the meaning, origin, and use of terms related to sexual diversity, gender identity, and LGBT culture.
A project shaped by debate and shared experience
Moscas de Colores emerged from years of conversations, debates, and exchanges of experiences with diverse individuals. From this process arose an open and inclusive vision of human sexuality, which we understand not as something fixed, but as constantly evolving.
We believe words have history and power: they reflect the societies in which they emerge. That’s why we analyze their origin and meaning, especially when they’ve been used to label, exclude, or harm. Visit our dictionaries.
From language to design
Based on that work, we transform words, concepts, and even insults into original designs with humor, criticism, and a critical and thought-provoking approach.
Each design has a story behind it: a word, a context, and an interpretation. Don’t miss our design series, which you can see on the homepage.
A cultural project funded through its designs
The designs are available on different products (t-shirts, prints, bags, etc.), which allows us to fund the project and continue researching, creating, and sharing content.
A space for open debate
Moscas de Colores is also a space for participation. We are interested in the exchange of ideas, criticism, and debate as tools for understanding and progress.
If you want to share your perspective, this is your place.
