Translated into English as lame pigeon is, with tortillera, one of the most searched LGBT expressions on the Internet. Is an expression that has starred in books, films, festivals, radio debates, social networks, and language specialized forums. It’s often used in the idiom “Es más maricón que un palomo cojo” (He is more faggot than a lame pigeon), that gives us the clue about the origin of the expression. Apparently, the issue is that the poor lame pigeons can’t reproduce because they need two legs to tread (mount) the dove, with only one leg cannot hold up on the dove nor perform the characteristic prior courtship of the species.
